The Westwood Neighborhood Greenway will clean and conserve water while providing an island of native habitat for birds, butterflies, and other animals next to one of the busiest light rail lines in the U.S.  Funded by Proposition O and the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission, construction began in October 2019 and should be complete by late-2020.

Shorter term, we support the completion of the Westwood Neighborhood Greenway and building an Outdoor Learning Center – including an amphitheater area and interpretive signs – for lessons on sustainable practices within the Greenway.

Longer term, we will support environmental groups (such as LA Audubon) as they use the uniquely accessible site to showcase sustainable choices for landscaping, including water and energy conservation through native plant varieties that preserve biodiversity while conserving water and reducing pollution.
